For the 2020 Summer Book Club, members of the Rocky Mountain Writing Centers Association (RMWCA) and interested parties will be reading Theories and Methods of Writing Center Studies: A Practical Guide edited by Jo Mackiewicz and Rebecca Day Babcock (ISBN-13: 978-0367188498; ISBN-10: 036718849X).  This approachable text helps "students and researchers understand the foundations of writing center studies in order to make sound decisions about the types of methods and theoretical lenses that will help them to formulate research questions" (Routledge).

There will be three book club meetings starting on June 10, 2020 at 12:00 noon Mountain Daylight Time.  During the first meeting, we will discuss the theory section of the book.  The next session will be held on July 8, 2020 also at noon.  In that session, we will be discussing the methods section.  Finally, the editors, Jo Mackiewicz and Rebecca Day Babcock will be joining us on August 5, 2020.

A link will be sent out one day prior to each meeting.  If you don't receive it, please contact Clint.Gardner@slcc.edu.

The Summer Book Club is free to RMWCA members. Non-members will pay a nominal fee to participate.  Attendance fees for non-members fund RMWCA projects.

You can also design the winning bookmark for the third annual RMWCA Summer Book Club! Tutors and administrators are invited to submit an bookmark design to celebrate the RMWCA Summer Book Club and/or our book club selection, Theories and Methods of Writing Center Studies. Submit your design as a PDF to Lisa Bell at 2lisabell@gmail.com  by June 1, 2020. Winners will be announced and bookmarks will be available prior to our first book club meeting in June.
